Desert + Wind + Oil = Monaay & ...

Qatar and a 'lil bike racing.

Aside from the somewhat annoying flat-windy style of racing, the organization sure took good care of us.  It's like we were some kind of celebrity over there.  The trip started off with a bang, with us flying Qatar Airways inaugural flight out of Brussels that was celebrated with cake and champagne at the gate.  Then staying in the Ritz Carelton, daily delivery of cookies & laundry, not to even mention the food, which by the way included sushi, all these unique salads, dips and stir frys - sorry no photos :(  there.  I was almost fooled in thinking i was in America by the wide roads, tv programs, new buildings and the growth.  My photo capturing was less than sub-par - so thanks Angela van Smoorenburg for these awesome pics.  You'll notice there aren't many pictures of the women, which apparently is considered rude.  That explains the glare i got from the customs woman i tried to sneak a photo of with my phone.  She was sporting some pretty flare worthy style with long fake pink nails, painted on eyebrows, extra spicy eye lashes and bright pink lipstick, and of course, the arab robe.  Definitely some tips to add to the style bank.  Lastly, one word of caution, the local drivers are Crazy (yes with a  capital), they're all driving their SUV's in a real hurry, that's like 100-120km/h on a regular street... say leaving the hotel.  Lets not even brief on how the roundabouts are working.  Alright, there really is a million and one things to write about, here are some photos to make up for my lack of description.  And as far as race report goes, check out cyclingnews, stage 3 i get a mention, heh.

familiar??
